Timberwolf 5K FAQs


1. When and where is the 5K Run?

Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Northwood High School, 4515 Portola Parkway, Irvine, CA 92620 Jamboree.

2. Can I register at the race?

Yes!  Registration opens at 6:30 am.

3. Where should I park?

If you live nearby, please walk to school  There is plenty of free parking at Northwood High School, we recommend carpools or walking to school.  There is overflow parking at Canyon View Elementary at 12025 Yale Ct or Chinese Baptist Church of Orange County at 12012 Yale Ct. 

4. What time should I arrive?

We recommend you arrive no later than 7:30 a.m. to allow time to park and get to the start line.  Add extra time if you need to pick up your race bib and T-shirt.

5. If I want to accompany my child during the race, do I have to register?

We encourage families to run or walk together.  Parents do not have to register to accompany their children, but we hope you will because all proceeds support our schools.

6. Who gets an award?

Age-division winners in the 5K race will receive a Timberwolf medal.  2nd and 3rd place finishers in each age divisions also receive commemorative medals.   

7. Where do I get my award and where are the times posted?

You may pick up your first-place medal, second-place medal, or third-place medal in the gym once all finish times are final.  We appreciate your understanding and patience as this takes time.  If you need to leave after the race and cannot wait, you may email to arrange a day and time to pick up your award.

8. What happens if it rains?

The Timberwolf 5K happens rain or shine.

9. Are dogs allowed in the Expo area and on the course?

No. Dogs are NOT allowed in the Expo area and not on the course.  Service dogs are allowed.

10. Are strollers allowed on the race course?

Yes.  Strollers are welcome on the 5K course, but please wait until the runners have started.

11. Will there be other activities at the Timberwolf 5K?

Spend time before or after the race at our Expo, with pancakes, the Timberwolf Trail, tasty treats and more.  The Expo features our sponsors and will be open at 7:00 am.

12. Will food be available?

Enjoy a complimentary pancake breakfast with sausage, orange juice, and coffee.  Plus the Northwood Culinary team will provide Timberwolf cookies.

13. Will there be an area for teams?

Yes, we will have an area where teams can meet.  You are welcome to bring your own pop-up canopy.  The team area is close on the track, near the finish line.

14. Will I get to meet "Timber" the Timberwolf?

Timber will be at the 5K.  Look for him throughout the day--be ready with your camera!

15. I need to edit my registration.  Is this possible?

Yes!  Go here to log in and edit details such as your name, race or bike tour, additional products, and more.  No editing after Thursday, February 6, 2020.

16. My plans have changed.  How do I get a refund?

We do not offer refunds for the Timberwolf 5K.  If you would still like your T-shirt and race bib, you are welcome to collect it at pre-registration.  Or contact us after the race, and we'll be glad to get you your shirt.
